Running in memory of Michael x

Created by Joanne 10 years ago
One of Michael's friends, Michael Pattinson, has so kindly decided to run the Robin Hood Half Marathon in memory of Michael on 29th September 2013. He is raising money for the charity C-R-Y (Cardiac Risk in the Young) which we chose to support when we discovered that Michael had sadly passed away due to Mitral Valve Prolapse Syndrome, a heart condition which we never knew he had. Every week in the UK, about 12 people under 35 die suddenly from a previously undiagnosed heart condition. And 80 per cent of the deaths will occur with no prior symptoms, as in Michael's case. As a family, we are so grateful to Michael for running in Michael's memory. The charity does a fantastic job of raising awareness of heart conditions such as Michael's, which so often go undiagnosed until it is too late. We hope the money raised will go towards helping identify those requiring treatment as early as possible, to save other families from having to face such a devastating loss. Michael would be proud to see the generosity that everyone has shown and we are hopeful that something positive can come from this. Thank you to all those who have donated so far. Please donate what you can and encourage others to do the same, so that we can help Michael reach his target of £2000 for this wonderful charity xx www.justgiving.com/mikepattinson
